I am too old and fat to go climbing towers. I have a fear of falling off, and am also fairly law abiding.
I have however seen pictures taken from atop the tower, they were, and probably still are publicly viewable. I do not feel it helpful to post any links to a site that blatantly encourages and glorifies trespass on railway and other property.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards,luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU^▸ is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.

Another vote for Durham although I haven't visited Kyle of Lochalsh.

And not quite the station itself but I do like the view as you go into Berwick Upon Tweed.

I have no pictures from Durham - but I have checked back and found pictures from the two I nominated and another that I should have suggested.

It's when I have asked a question like this I come to realise just how few times I turn the camera away from the railway while still on the platform!

Carbis Bay isn't bad either.

I'd also suggest Ferryside, if you get up on the footbridge and look over the estuary towards Llanstefan Castle and the ocean.

Aviemore the favorite one (that I've been to) in the Highlands.
