Hello All,
Just wanted to know whether the following ticket combination would be "legal"

A Saver Return from Swindon to Paddington on Saturday is ^37

However,  A Cheap Day Return from Swindon to Didcot is ^7.90 and from Didcot to Paddington ^19.00, giving a combined ticket price of ^26.90

Is this combination allowable?

Thanks in Advance..

The train you are on MUST stop there. You don't have to get off and back on again.

Welcome to the forum, Hello.

There are actually numerous similar journeys around where this sort of situation applies.  Yes, perfectly legal as described above, and you can buy both tickets at Swindon at the same time too.  I used to worry whether using (and indeed publicising) such wheezes were morally acceptable and brought the fare system into disrepute ... but after a lot of consideration I came to the conclusion that the fares system is already pretty disreputable in some aspects, and I will "split ticket" at times.

In the didcot case (one I use frequently to go from Bath to London) does it have anything to do with the fact that Didcot was the cut off of the old Network Southeast?
