A number of London termini have statues and memorials - some very much serious that make us stop and think, others frivolous and fun. Imagine your cousin from Calgary and her husband and two teenage children are in London for a week - which statuses / memorials would you suggest they make a point of taking a look at as they pass through?
Please post if you have anything else you would rank in the same league as the above ...

My choices were limited by not knowing enough about the ones I didn't vote for to confidently vote for them.
My "other" vote is for the John Betjeman statue at St Pancras.

Yes, splendid idea. It gives the opportunity to include George Gilbert Scott's neo gothic masterpiece, the frontage at St Pancras. |

I feel a little sorry for Waterloo. It's magnificent frontage suffers from the fact that there is nowhere where you can step back to properly appreciate it.

Off topic - I have used a picture of the statue to paint a thousand words on "Welcoming Refugees and sending aid" - for Ukraine - at http://grahamellis.uk/blog431.html . I have strong views on how this country is handling (or not) the welcoming of refugees, and how its seems to be less than good in oiling the wheel of getting donations through. These are personal views, and I appreciate that my view are far from universal. |

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards,luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU▸ is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.
