Curious, why is it only available to rail season ticket holders? I park at the station every day but go either to London or Bristol and its never been worth getting a season ticket.

O/T would also be nice if Apcoa would FINALLY get some new ticket machines installed at Chippenham!

I know for Reading station APCOA (Car parking company used at GWR (Great Western Railway) - controlled stations in the area) charge different prices based on whether a season ticket holder or not.

It would appear that Economy Klaus shares your view, miniman (link below.)

I have to admit, I'd never go back to using the coin/card parking machines at Chippenham (or indeed most other FGW (First Great Western) stations) even if they did reinstall them. The "RingGo" scheme is just too convenient for words. I don't even have to get out of the car to pay! Brilliant stuff.

Resurrecting this old thread because I have just noticed a recent Ring-Go announcement which I hadn't seen mentioned elsewhere on this forum (or indeed the FGW (First Great Western) website, though I could be wrong):

RingGo cheaper than cash on FGW (30 Jan 09)

From the 1st February, in all First Great Western station car parks offering RingGo, RingGo will be cheaper than paying by cash.

This is great news for existing RingGo users and we hope that more people parking at the FGW station car parks will become RingGo fans!

RingGo will also be available in eight more FGW stations:

Bodmin Parkway
Bridgewater
Clifton Down
Falmouth Docks
Frome
Gloucester
Liskeard
Weston-Super-Mare

They know where you are, and where you've been. Think I would carry on using cash until that becomes completely obsolete.

Don't think there is a paranoid smiley readily available, although TJ can probably find one.

 Cool

Thanks TJ, I knew you wouldn't fail. I had to wait till I got home to view it though as the works system blocks quite a bit of stuff, especially pictures linked to certain hosting sites.  Sad
