Discussion - or talk.   Last night, the UK (United Kingdom) went into effective lockdown - goings on like most of us have never seen in our lifetime.  Life is dramatically changing for almost everyone; I see personal stories posting in our "and also" board which is for regular members on none-rail topics and I'm sure I'll be posting there too - it's what that board is intended for.   Direct link - http://www.passenger.chat/b45 ; if that does not work for you - it's probably because you're not logged in or haven't yet posted more than a few times.  And if you're in that situation, please register, please post a little and you'll be joined in.

I keep an eye on our server.  You could, I suppose, call me a "web site doctor" with a finger on the pulse. One of the things that has amazed me over the past few days is how the pulse / pattern of the server has remained consistent and normal.    Looking at visits hour by hour over the last week:

Whether it's going to carry on like this, or whether there will be some sort of delayed reaction, I don't know.   But the intent is for service levels and system as normal, even though what we are discussing is anything but normal.

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. Views expressed in posts are not necessarily the views of the operators of the forum.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
