Cheltenham Parliamentary Seat To Be Tight Marginal After Boundary Changes

MP^▸ (Member of Parliament) Martin Horwood has welcomed measures which will change the county's constituency boundaries - even though they are expected to slash his majority to just 300. Cheltenham's Liberal Democrat MP won his seat at the 2005 election with a majority of 2,300 but plans to move Leckhampton, Up Hatherley and Warden Hill from the Conservative-held constituency of Tewkesbury to Cheltenham are predicted to slash that figure by 2,000 (link below.)

Alex Chalk is Cheltenham's new Conservative MP and he has already set out what he wants to achieve in his first 100 days in office.

As set out in his 2015 General Election literature he is planning to:

3. Meet the Transport Secretary to push for early progress on the A417 Loop project.

4. Call a "pothole summit" at Gloucestershire County Council to drive progress on local road repairs.

5. Map out a plan with Network Rail and First Great Western for station and connectivity improvements in Cheltenham.
