May I take this opportunity to wish all coffee shop members a happy Christmas and the hope that Santa brings you all you wish for.

I'll echo that. Mince pie and carrot by the fireplace, everyone in the land of nod, aside me. Time to turn in before the bearded one (no, not you Grahame) squeezes down the chimney. Merry Christmas Coffee Shoppers everywhere.

Merry Christmas to all - and may I just register my appreciation of GWR^▸ 's impressive performance today - despite it being a Bank Holiday, not one delay, cancellation or crew shortage.

There was in fact a massive shortage of crew, but luckily that was masked by the lack of trains for them.

Well, its Boxing Day now and its a miserable wet and windy one down here in the far-Southwest. So, when having a browse through some other webistes/forums I frequent, most of them have been discussing the lack of trains here in the UK^▸ . Then I came across this post which made my day:

When trains ran in the Uk a retired rail man told me of a call he'd had on Christmas Day saying some horses where en route to Nafferton. He was panicking as there was no straw available for when they arrived. The stationmaster managed to find straw from a local farmer and did his best.
