Last Sunday (8/12) there was a stand by the above group outside the Reading Butts Centre/Broad St Mall together with a number of preserved Reading buses offering complimentary rides. The buses included a Bristol and MCW from the '70's (is it that long ago?)  as well as the star - the 1935 Regent. It was quite an experience to ride in a proper bus - a half cab - out to deepest Caversham and back.

Their motto is "Fro' Paddington to Penzance"

I remember going to school on that 1935 Regent - and that was the early 1970s!

You must have been a very well behaved little lad, quietly sitting up straight with your arms folded, keeping your feet off the seats, because the 'bus is in excellent condition!
