This is also an area where well established posters are welcome to post up the occasional advert for charity events they'll be taking part in, good causes they support, even products they offer that relate paricularly to people within this area. The question will inevitable be asked "where are the limits" on this ... and as a rule of thumb, posts of this nature would be regarded as inappropriate here if they were:
Quoting from a pinned post that has well took the test of time and will stay pinned. But I am adding, explicitly, that the Coffee Shop has turned into something of a club of people, and that posts and topics which are going to be personally supportive / helpful to well established members are also welcome.
We have got to know each other well over the years, a very quirky bunch in many ways but linked by a common advocacy for public transport with an especial eye for the passenger and wannabe passenger. As I write this update, the world is engulfed in the Covid-19 pandemic and there can't be a member this has not reached or affected in some way. If the forum can be of help at present, please post; if in serious doubt whether you should please use our chat facility or, or personal message to check with one of our team - and remember those routes are open for any help
These comments apply on posts to:
Introduction and Chat -
http://www.passenger.chat/b1 (public readable, member only writeable)
The West - but not the West's trains -
http://www.passenger.chat/b31 (public readable, member only writeable)
And Also -
http://www.passenger.chat/b45 (established posting member only writeable and readable)
and to a lesser extent to:
The Lighter Side -
http://www.passenger.chat/b30 (public readable, member only writeable)
which we should probably keep somewhat transportesque
P.S. I write that such posts are welcome "at present". Unlike so many things at the moment which are temporary measures with possible end dates being bandied about, this "please post if the forum can help" message is without end date - indefinite, likely permanent, and what a positive outcome if this current situation makes us that little more caring for and appreciative of each other.
