From Journeycheck
Cancellations to services between Bodmin Parkway and Liskeard Due to a fault with the signalling system between Bodmin Parkway and Liskeard the line towards Plymouth is closed. Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 09:00 26/10.
I thought these were manual boxes, and as such, almost impervious to weather related disruption. No electronics, etc.

Due to a track circuit failure. Even old mechanical boxes often use track circuits.

The line between Lostwithiel and Liskeard, through Bodmin Parkway, is Track Circuit Block controlled by Solid State Interlocking (SSI▸ ) with some track circuits, but mostly axle counters. The control panel (NX type) is located in Par Signalbox.

Isn't it just the interlocking that is located at Par, with control from an NX panel in Lostwithiel or has this now been moved?

If NR» are trying to centralise everything, why not control Lostwithiel from Par?

Lostwithiel signal box controls the signals in the station area with levers and also the down Intermediate Block Signal at Treverrin via a switch on the block shelf. There is also a panel in the box which controls the single line at Largin (Lostwithiel took this over when Largin box closed in 1991) plus some new signals recently installed in the Bodmin Parkway area. The panel communicates with the interlocking (at Par) which in turn communicates with the points and signals (it's a bit more complicated than that but I don't want to start getting too technical on here).
