It's a few years now since the Starcross Pumping house was a museum. Managed a visit there once, many moons ago.

Where they ever installed? like the ones into Bristol TM (Train Manager, or Ticket Machine, or Temple Meads (Bristol), depending on context)..
Bristol and Oxford, main points for semi fast electric service I would have thought, did use the 387 units on my recent trip, major improvement on a 16x. Missed chance there. or other words to that effect.
All the brand new OLE (Overhead Line Equipment, more often "OHLE") masts and bases have been put up on a network rail disposal list I subcribe to. such a waste.

Presumably they cost money to store so getting rid as scrap may be cheaper than hanging on to them until they are needed.
