I started my weekend finalising the plans for a month of house and dog sitting in September.
Then to Swindon for a meal with a fellow forum member and overnight stay. Where sleep was hard to come by thanks to an absolutely trollied couple shouting, arguing, effing and jeffing to the rear of the friends house.
I had planned to then go to Crofton Beam Engines near Bedwyn, next to the Kennet & Avon Canal and Berks & Hants railway, but due to tiredness and not being able to take Finn into the engine house I curtailed that trip. Far too hot to leave Finn in the car at all. So back home to put my feet up and watch the cricket.
I'd just got comfortable back home in Templecombe when Mum called to tell me her toilet cistern was constantly filling. So, over to Taunton to replace a broken float valve. Took a while to find somewhere that stocked the correct part. It wasn't a bog(!) standard ballcock type valve. Ended up sorting her TV reception too.
Tomorrow (Sunday) is a day pottering about the flat.
BH Monday I'm off to the Gartell Light Railway, just up the road from my home, to ride the rails and do some photography. Finn is welcome there! (So... might see you there rogerw!)
I have ample supplies of cold roast beef, beer, and other supplies.
All round to yours then
BG▸ . I'll bring the horseradish and English mustard!
