RTT» (Real Time Trains - website) show it cancelled at Reading due to signal failure, arr 35 late

Journey Check has 1A81 7.41 exPNZ as 5 coaches vice 8, so presumably IET (Intercity Express Train).

There's an ECS (Empty Coaching Stock) 5C84 at 1050 from Bristol to Paddington, which looks like a replacement HST (High Speed Train) and form 1C84 1403 to Penzance.

Saw it sat at Platform 7 as I passed through, circa 09:30 ... it headed west about quarter of an hour later, presumably held for passengers connecting from Paddington.  Real Time Trains suggests to me that it then missed its path and suffered further delays, or could it be that it was taking it leisurely in this swan song week?
