2013 looks to be on a North American lumber railroad. The loco's needed high tractive effort and adhesion so had vertical cylinders driving horizontal shafts similar to those on GWR▸ railbuses, so each axle was motored (if you'll forgive the term).
Haven't a clue otherwise!

GWA's Adelaide-to-Darwin service, with freight terminals in Darwin, Katherine and Tennant Creek and also has access to terminals in Adelaide and Alice Springs.
Beyond that I could only guess!

It is at the last named place on your list - a town called Alice  This just leaves 2012, which is 'somewhere in Russia', just to narrow it down |
