A new intercity express train is to be named after a Bristol fundraiser who fought to raise awareness of melanoma.

Kathryn Osmond, who died last year, had worked as a paramedic for the South Western Ambulance Service, for 16 years.

The train naming will take place in front of members of Ms Osmond's immediate family, friends and former colleagues at Bristol Temple Meads later today, and the name is to be unveiled by Kathryn’s partner Sara.

The 41 year old studied emergency care at the University of the West of England in Bristol and worked in Bristol and Weston-super-Mare.

That explains that then. I saw it working the 1100 BRI» (Bristol Temple Meads - next trains) PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) this morning and I wondered who she was...  Grin
