BBC^» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) Radio 4 reporting that 100 residents of Coventry have volunteered to pilot a ' get outta yer car ' scheme. They will use alternative means of travel including hired electric cars and earn credits which could amount to upto £3000 in a year. The scheme, if successful would be expanded to other parts of the country. It is being funded by a £30 million grant to the West Midlands Combined Authority. Can't see WECA^» (West of England Combined Authority - about)/Tim Bowles doing anything like that in this region.

Cant see the point of allowing use of hired electric cars if the object of the scheme is to reduce congestion, one hired electric car replacing one petrol/diesel fuelled car isn't reducing congestion in my eyes.
