For the absence of doubt ... about to change

to
Marston Vale Line receives first of new Class 230 stock

I don't easily spot typos (as you all know) and at first thought you might be questioning "new".  However - I'm willing to go with that as they're a completely new passenger experience ... even though - if they carried on through to Verney Junction and turned south into London - they might get a few wry smiles at that word.

Quote from: Stratford Observer
The hot topic of reopening the Honeybourne railway line has been backed by the planning inspector who oversaw Stratford District Council’s Core Strategy.

Peter Drew – who last month declared the town’s future housing plan ‘sound’ – has said reinstating the missing section of line between Stratford and Long Martson could provide a long-term solution to the town’s traffic congestion.

Oops, that was my typo. Thanks for changing it.

On the subject of DTrain being used elsewhere, don't forget that it's still the hot favourite in many people's view for the new stock on the Isle of Wight Island Line. The decisions on the line's future have been delayed at least twice but some sort of announcement is due "in the coming weeks" according to the Keep Island Line in Franchise Facebook page.

Edit: You've guessed it, a typo!

Oh dear. I had a look at NR» (Network Rail - home page) live trains and the 0624 from Bletchley seems to be stuck at Milbrook...

It was a level crossing failure, so nothing to do with the train.

There's an interesting review of the Class 230 on the Marston Vale Line from Geoff Marshall of "All the Stations", link below. I found it on the Vivarail website news page.

From Railway Gazette - the 'new' fleet has taken over completely now.

Quote
Class 150 and 153 diesel multiple-units have been withdrawn from West Midlands Trains services on the UK (United Kingdom)'s Marston Vale Line, with all services now operated using Class 230 DMUs (Diesel Multiple Unit) supplied by Vivarail.

Though not without the odd hiccup reliability wise which they will hopefully soon get on top of.  Hopefully by tomorrow  Smiley

That was an interesting interview with Adrian Shooter embedded in the Railway Gazette article too. I knew they were looking at the USA and they seem to be making headway there.
