If anyone is interested - and especially for those of us for whom no journey planner is a substitute for a "proper" timetable - Network Rail have finally got the PDF version of the December timetable up on their website:

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

SWR» (South Western Railway - about) have copies of their December tt on their website whereas for GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) it appears you have to download the NR» (Network Rail - home page) National tt, all 33mb, and then select the GWR lines.
With both companies having the same parent you might have thought that they would have a similar approach.

A similar thing is seen with their respective Journey Check sites, that for SWR is always more detailed that that for GWR.
