A great challenge. Thanks and Well done. For 28 I submit "Flyn" for a bonus point.

Sorry, no. 'Finn' however was at Melksham!

33 looks to be on a still-open line - there's a station name in the background - and we were given the clue that it has been there since 1900. So that may point to a GWR (Great Western Railway) cut-off or the GC» (Great Central Railway - link to heritage line) or Joint?

Neither of those. Although it has been 'Great' in the past, and is 'Greater' today.

33: Hoveton (& Wroxham)

Correct! Former Great Eastern, now Greater Anglia.

I think strictly that should have been either Wroxham (the name on the other end of the signal box, and of the Bure Valley Railway station) or Hoveton (the nearest part of the town of Wroxham is the village of Hoveton that it has now engulfed) but not both. Hoveton & Wroxham is the name of the GA (Greater Anglia) station, but the signal box now belongs to its own trust, not to Network Rail nor to the Bure Valley Railway. It has also been moved, by a few feet, as it obstructed the sighting of one of the new signals that replace its own ones. Surely there must be a simpler way of solving that problem, with some kind of extra signal ...

And I thought  I was a pedant par excellence. Tongue

Nearest passenger station (brackets or not) is good enough for me.

And that completes the quiz. Well done to all who took part. Your prizes are a pat on the back, and the warm glow from knowing what excellent ferroequinologists you all are!

Finally, a crop and zoom from image no. 3. A bonus caption competition. Best rail/sheep pun wins.
