Newton Abbot sheds on fire

In line with other local historic buildings that have been refused demolition, the old sheds at Newton Abbot are currently alight.

Lidl have recently been refused planning permission to demolish and build a store!

Firstly, 17/02050/LA (which covers the whole site, not just the boathouse which caught fire) is pending, not refused; secondly according to the Post a fire service spokesman said: "“No one has been injured and we believe the fire was caused by accidental ignition.”

Back to Newton Abbot. The fire there, in the old Carriage & Wagon Repair Shop, is now believed to have been started deliberately.
