What do people think of the HST▸ livery?
Apparently this (below) was going to be the livery.
What do people think of it, compared to the current "plain" one?

I much prefer the new Dynamic Lines to that old version. I think the HST▸ 's look quite smart in Plain Blue but maybe dynamic lines would look good. Does anyone know what livery the 57's will get, I know one went to be reliviered last wek, has it come back yet?

I Do like the present livery..smart, purposeful, and slightly understated , its not stupid like some other Tocs choice of livery,...although i think you cant beat the old Br Swallow intercity livery on an Hst

Yes, Swallow livery was best on HST▸ 's, and Regional Railways was best on DMU▸ 's! I do think the units look smart in the new blue livery though.

The current one I think is rather nice and bold - slightly understated, not arrogant. The picture above is a little poor - wishy-washy almost!

I don't think it is bad!
I like the old InterCity livery a lot, though.

I like the dynamic lines livery, however the plain blue power cars we have now are better I think.

Nice dark primary colours like FGW▸ HST▸ powercars, the old GNER▸ livery and the deep red and blue of SWT▸ look classy.
Plus - darker colours don't show the dirt as quickly

I don^t really care so long as the locomotive looks as though it belongs to the rest of the train it^s hauling, and IMHO▸ at the moment they just look unfinished compared with the rest of the fleet.
If you look after your stock like SWT▸ do, then you can have white as part of the scheme, they stand out even more now to your average passenger who has a choice which train they catch to Bristol, hence the very busy 159^s.
Fragonset were very good marketeers with their 31^s and matching coaches, first with the overall IC▸ ^Swallow^ then that wonderful Wessex purple set.

The best colour to hide dirt is not black or white but Grey, ask a car salesman. For some strange reason dirt doesn't show up so well on a grey backgroung.

Best Livery for the 57's is a big White Circle with a Cross in the middle = Condemed.

I think the one in your pic may have been vinyls, whilst the one used now is just painted.

Indeed.
The one used before is basically the current livery with vinyls.
I'm told they couldn't use dynamic lines on the power car as the vinyls came out in the wash!

Pity the power cars now look a bit bland and boring to me and dont catch the eye like they used too.

You'll also find that the base colour in the picture is ligher than now, the same blue used by FCC▸ and FTPE» .
