At a guess, I would have thought the longest line without a station where there are regular GWR (Great Western Railway) routes would be Bristol Parkway to Swindon.

I would have thought Swindon to Didcot must be a close second.

Bristol Parkway - Swindon 34m 30ch
Swindon - Didcot Parkway 24m 13ch

Neither though is the longest run between two GWR (Great Western Railway) served stations (with no intermediate station) on the same line...

Totnes to Plymouth does have an intermediate station though.

I do sympathise ... it's so easy to forget about Ivybridge.  Tongue

But, to be fair, Ivybridge (as it is now) is very much a compromise solution to the closure of the much more useful station at the original site: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivybridge_railway_station

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

The way you worded your statement, this probably involves the Westbury avoiding line....

That is the one!

Now, all that's needed is a direct service between the two to tap the latent market for travel between Bruton and Pewsey.  Tongue

Slightly artificial since the Westbury avoiding line is really only a glorified through line that happens to by-pass the station.

The flows not catered for from Pewsey are for Trowbridge, Bath and Bristol ... but we'll see what the 6th April meeting raises.  There are, of course, direct services from Bristol and Trowbridge to Pewsey already, but their use isn't particularly great.
