William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

14:00 Penzance to Paddington, only had one working toilet up to Plymouth, which then went out of order, due the train being immediately turned around, and the water tanks not being replenished. Therefore GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) Operations allowed 10 minutes at Exeter & Taunton for toilet breaks  Grin   

Sometimes I fail to understand GWR's logic,  holding the train at two stations for 10 minutes each time, or hold it at Penzance for 20-25 minutes to replenish the water tanks. If GWR are bringing the renaissance of rail, I hardly think reintroducing toilet breaks at stations is a good idea, last time it happened was in the early 1900s  Cheesy

Beat me to it! Although I have been out today (and yesterday) with only a little difficulty. Coming from where I do, the tricks to help progress either on foot or in a car are learned early. The most important lesson is when not to bother.
