PS - just read Rich's post - I've never had a Dewdney's pasty.  Sounds like I may have had a lucky escape.  I have had a (few) Jasperisers on the Barbican and can personally vouch for Cap'n Jaspers....

Beef skirt is spot on but I'm afraid Stilton has no place in a Cornish pasty - have it with a drop of Port afterwards instead.........and perhaps a scone? (Cream on first, naturally!)

I was very careful to say just 'pasty'. I know that Beef and Stilton isn't 'Cornish'. And, as I'd be making them at home in Somerset, I'd risk the wrath of the Corning Pasty Association and their Protected Geographical Indication if I dared suggest my concoction was from Cornwall.

Anyway, the KFC drive-through (I am NOT spelling it "thru") restaurant at Avonmeads is open again, no doubt to the delight of the hungry workers at St Philips Marsh HST^▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) depot next door. This reopening is good news, as it means I can resume my boycott.

......although there have been some injuries as people try cooking for the first time ever.

Think of the lives lost in home fires as people are forced to fry their own chicken, in overfilled pans.
The poor will even be reduced to cooking chips in electric kettles* a known fire risk. The government HAVE to step in and resolve this crisis, before MORE children die, of malnutrition or in house fires.
And what is being done to help those who have managed to feed their families only by driving to more distant KFC outlets that are still open, surely reimbursement for the extra petrol consumed should be available ?

*It would never have occurred to me that chips COULD be cooked in an  electric kettle, until the fire brigade leafleted every home in the area warning of the perils of so doing. You cant do enough chips for the whole family, but apparently it is very handy when you "just need a few chips for the baby"
