Does anyone know why every time GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) appears on the west country news, good, bad or otherwise its advert sponsoring the weather is pulled and the play some sort of jingle instead?

All commercial TV▸ (Thames Valley) channels have to clearly demarcate content so there is no confusion between advertisements and (in this case) news. I assume the fact that the sponsorship segments appear as part of the bulletin it is felt that they should be pulled lest their be any confusion.

News "Trains to the West country are seriously disrupted by weather"

One might see a possibility of confusion.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards,luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU▸ (Diesel Multiple Unit) is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.

The GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) sponsorship of the Meridian weather forecasts is much more recent. Although what the people in Kent, East Sussex and the Isle of Wight make of it might be another matter.
