This continued through the day, lots of long HST (High Speed Train) journeys without buffet cars,  TM(resolve) on the 1551 Paddington to Worcester apologised, but there was a trolley of light refreshments in carriage E.

Train was an HST as booked but completely missing the buffet carriage.

Is this because rather belatedly they are off for refurbishment? Or because the withdrawal program is still on.

With stock in short supply EVEN HST (High Speed Train)'s it was madness for FGW (First Great Western) to think up 2+7 and 2+8 buffetet fleets of HST's.
Operational needs will keep causing 2+7 sets to work to Penzance and other long journeys whilst Buffet Cars will be slowing down the Bristol/Cardiff 2+7 timed trains.

It's far better to have a Buffet on EVERY HST, put in Standard seats in Buffet Car F!!

Afraid not, the buffet removal is still on, a new staff briefing booklet has been issued, dated Feb 2008!
