As a matter of interest, does anyone know what happened with 1P04 0511 Worcester Shrub Hill to Paddington this morning?
Departed Worcester Shrub Hill 10 minutes late, Evesham 10 minutes late, Moreton-in-Marsh 15 minutes late, Oxford 20 minutes late
Arrived Paddington 22 minutes late
I suppose Cotswold line passengers have to be glad that the train ran at all - but that's a heck of a lot of time to lose whilst en-route. Maybe the (HST▸ ???) train wasn't running on full power?

Hmmmmm.... 04:47 Hereford to London Paddington due 07:52 04:47 Hereford to London Paddington due 07:52 will be started from Worcester Shrub Hill and terminated at London Paddington. It will no longer call at Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Pershore, Evesham, Moreton-in-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury, Hanborough, Oxford, Didcot Parkway, Reading and London Paddington but will call additionally at Pershore, Evesham, Moreton-in-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury, Hanborough, Oxford, Didcot Parkway and Reading. This is due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time. Last Updated:26/06/2018 03:33

That's a very confused train : I hope it can remember what it's supposed to do.

Yesterday saw the first running of the 0710 Moreton-in-Marsh to Paddington as a nine coach IET▸ . Today: 07:10 Moreton-in-Marsh to London Paddington due 08:51 will be started from Oxford. It will no longer call at Moreton-in-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury and Hanborough. This is due to a shortage of train crew.

Where can I find a summary of the reliability, or not, on weekends. Thinking of going to Evesham and Pershore this weekend. Any experts like to hazard a meteorological and metallurgical forecast as to whether "wiggly" rails are likely?

I guess that is why one of the new 9 car IET▸ , 800304, was parked at Oxford this morning.

The usual: 15:50 London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh due 17:26 was terminated at Oxford. It will no longer call at Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham and Moreton-in-Marsh. This is due to a late running train being in front of this one.
Last Updated:28/06/2018 16:59 And the usual late call too - regular passengers on this service wanting go beyond Oxford must have a sense of foreboding as it pulls into Oxford... Return working similarly affected. And to top it on this sweltering afternoon, the following service - the 16:22 Paddington to Great Malvern - lost over 20 minutes between Didcot North and Oxford, and has just gone through Wolvercote Junction 26 minutes late.

That was late because the 1659 Didcot to oxford spent 20 minutes at Culham trying to fix a door, I was on the train. Of course on a hot day it was a 166 with no air conditioning and because the driver from this train is the driver for the 1831 to Paddington it meant that neither platform 3 or 4 at Oxford could be used! Hopefully the coming signalling upgrade will resolve some of these issues.

It should make things much better with a big increase in flexibility at Oxford station, along with the ability to route trains round a failure between Didcot and Wolvercote using the bi-directional signalling.

These will all help but Oxford desperately needs more platforms. When I arrived at Oxford platform 4 was so full they were standing on the overbridge stairs as there was no more room on the platform.

Agreed. Platform 5 is very much on the agenda I believe (as part of Phase 2 of the Oxford Corridor works) and hopefully won’t have to wait for any major station rebuild that might be many years away. I am hoping they take the opportunity to widen the platform face of what will become an island platform in the same way the platform at the north end of platform 3 was widened when platform 2 was rebuilt.

09:21 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 11:31 will be terminated at Oxford. It will no longer call at Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham, Moreton-in-Marsh, Evesham, Worcester Shrub Hill and Worcester Foregate Street. It has been delayed at Reading and is now 60 minutes late. This is due to a fault on a train in front of this one.
Last Updated:29/06/2018 10:53 with the return run starting from Oxford. And, I presume, unrelated: 09:50 Moreton-in-Marsh to London Paddington due 11:30 will be terminated at Reading. It will no longer call at Slough and London Paddington. This is due to a fault on this train.
Last Updated:29/06/2018 09:14 Given the decision to terminate was taken before the train had started its journey, I wonder what sort of fault it might have been. And an inconvenience: Facilities on the 10:59 Great Malvern to London Paddington due 13:29. Toilet facilities are not available. This is due to a fault on this train.

Train in front, a Swansea bound HST▸ , failed near Goring with fire alarms sounding and it took getting on for an hour to sort that out. Passengers were transferred into the Hereford service at Oxford which was behind it.
