Well, it would have been good news except it was cancelled beyond Oxford due to the signalling problems in the Didcot area!

The halts train after it was a HST▸ , so they must've swapped trains around. Rather remarkably the HST on the halts train didn't really lose any time en-route between Oxford and Moreton despite the totally unsuitable platform lengths at many of the stations - mind you the schedule has had a lot of slack put in since the Turbo days.
The performance results have been published for the latest period with a PPM‡ figure 15% lower than the same period last year. The cancellations/part cancellations figures are a month behind for some reason, but the month up to the 3rd March saw a whopping 9.8% of trains cancelled on the route. The part cancellation figure was 7.4% - which is for trains that skip stops or terminate early/start short.

05:47 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 08:15 was terminated at Oxford. It will no longer call at Slough, Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham, Moreton-in-Marsh, Honeybourne, Evesham, Pershore, Worcester Shrub Hill and Worcester Foregate Street. It has been delayed at London Paddington and is now 34 minutes late. This is due to a fault on this train.
08:25 Worcester Foregate Street to London Paddington due 10:57 will be started from Oxford.

Despite speed restrictions in the Didcot area due to the heat, the 15:52 Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh seems to have made it down the Cotswold Line for the first time in over a week. It left Oxford 16 late - a delay that is often enough to see it terminated at Oxford - and arrived at MIM 21 late.

Yes, no difference to the delays at the same time of day yesterday when it only got to Oxford. Good that it ran for those on board, not so good for those caught up in additional reactionary delays as a result of running it. Consistency in decision making would be nice.

Another thread that goes to show that a reliable railway would lead to a punctual railway.

And rather incredibly the 15:52 PAD» :MIM has gone beyond Oxford again today, despite being 23 minutes late and then being delayed a further 11 minutes until the 15:14 Hereford to Paddington had cleared the single track. Probably just as well as the 16:22 Paddington to Great Malvern is currently running 29 minutes late (and being terminated at Worcester Shrub Hill) and the 17:22 PAD:HFD» has just left Paddington 13 minutes late.

I think those following trains running late probably swayed the decision somewhat.

After the usual weekend cancellations (on how many Saturdays recently has the 0843 GMV: PAD» actually been operated?), back to the working week: 05:47 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 08:15 was terminated at Reading. This is due to a fault on this train.

I understand the 1901 from Honeybourne to Paddington (1826 ex WOF) yesterday, Sunday 22.04.2018 was cancelled because of lack of a driver. A friend intending to return to Banbury (via Oxford) after visiting my daughter in the Vale of Evesham, was advised, on speaking to "GWR▸ " staff whilst she was at Honeybourne waiting for the missing train, to make her own way to Worcester and from there take a service to New Street and on to Banbury that way round. The cancellation of the train is bad enough, but failing to consider options using Stratford upon Avon or Warwick Parkway when handing-out alternative travel suggestions adds insult to injury. Stratford is around 20 minutes by road from Honeybourne, and Warwick Parkway probably less than 40 at that time of a Sunday evening. Fortunately my daughter was able to take her friend to Worcester. It was hardly convenient.
How does my daughter's friend stand as to compensation for the "service" she didn't receive?
