This is the snowdrift near Ledbury as of this evening. Must’ve been much worse a couple of days ago.

And cancellations and delays this morning due to a faulty train.
06:53 Worcester Foregate Street to Didcot Parkway due 08:28 will be cancelled. This is due to a fault on this train.
07:10 Moreton-in-Marsh to London Paddington due 08:51 will be started from Oxford. It will no longer call at Moreton-in-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury and Hanborough. This is due to a broken down train. Of course, it's not clear from this whether these are your common everyday GWR▸ faults or a result of maintenance disruption during the severe weather.

After last week's extreme weather, a sense of normality is returning to the Cotswold Line: 15:52 London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh due 17:26 will be terminated at Oxford. It will no longer call at Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham and Moreton-in-Marsh. This is due to a fault on this train.

Not sure on the accuracy of the cancellation reason - we left Paddington late - the guard did announce it but didn’t provide an explanation.
We eventually rolled into Oxford a bit late, and as per normal, any sign of late running on this train results in it being dumped so we can await the all stations stopper.
Thankfully we were treated to a shiny new train (what is the 1622 exPAD) - first time I’ve been on one on that particular journey. The annoucements were automated for short platforms, but didn’t state which coach to be in, only that the doors at one end of my carriage (B) (between A&B) weren’t opening at Hanborough, Combe or Finstock - not a multiple announcement, just once per stop) - so what, do they open the doors in the middle? All the regulars for hanborough were loaded at the front on departure from Oxford only to have to trudge through a train of standing passengers to get off.

Indeed so, though the 19:22 Paddington - Hereford was flagged as being cancelled between Shrub Hill and Hereford at one stage - but was reinstated later.

And making up for yesterday's rogue day: 16:22 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 19:26 will be cancelled. This is due to a shortage of train drivers.
19:42 Great Malvern to London Paddington due 22:29 will be cancelled. This is due to a shortage of train drivers.
Last Updated:09/03/2018 10:48 These services do seem to be regular victims when GWR▸ try to manage their driver shortages.

And they have the nerve to continue with their misjudged advertising campaign.

I don't believe that these new trains exist. Since the beginning of January I have been using a fairly random selection of early-mid morning trains into oxford and evening/late evening trains back and haven't yet even seen one. If the train has even run, it has been formed of a HST▸ or turbo.

And they have the nerve to continue with their misjudged advertising campaign. Yup they've restarted their famous five advertising campaign subject of much ridicule on their FB page. You'd think they'd quietly drop it but then again they've probably paid big money to an advertising agency.
