Cotswold Line - 2018 cancellation and amendments log

Trip to London yesterday. Got on a Cotswold Line train at Reading at about 11:00, which had been due in about 09:30. Further delayed by a door fault.

At OOC^▸ (Old Oak Common (depot)) the TM^‡(resolve) advised passengers who boarded before Oxford to retain tickets and claim. Presumably another job for the driver if they do make them truely DOO^▸ (Driver-Only Operation (that is, trains which operate without carrying a guard)).

This is due to damage to the overhead electric wires.
Further Information
This train service cancellation has arisen as a result of the level of disruption and displacement of carriages which occurred following the damage to the overhead wires near Paddington on Sunday.

This service was cancelled throughout due to a problem with the traction equipment (MD).

Maybe there's a better place to mention this but a couple of short-formations this morning that didn't appear on JourneyCheck.

The 05:28 Hereford to Paddington and 07:10 Moreton-in-Marsh to Paddington both five coach IETs^▸ (Intercity Express Train) instead of the usual nine.

Certainly five coaches on the 07:10 are more than enough for the Cotswold Line part of the journey but it did seem that capacity would have struggled beyond Oxford.
