Arise Sir Notwork?

Is it only me or are others baffled by the fact that in the week Notwork Snail gets fined ^14,000,000 its chairman Ian McAllister gets a knighthood?

Shouldn't he get a P45 rather than a knighthood? Also how does a fine help the passenger?

Does this indicate just how far out of touch the government is?

It's not only FGW^▸ that has questions to answer.

See the BBC^» News story, at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7267658.stm, and a quote from towards the end of the item:

"The ORR^» fine came on the same day that the chairman of Network Rail, Sir Ian McAllister, was knighted by the Prince of Wales for "services to transport."

At the time of the disruption in January, Sir Ian declined to come into work because he said he would "only get in the way."
