It is indeed the end of York Place.   I'm not so sure about trams gazing wistfully though - source?   Wink

IIRC ('if I recall/remember/read correctly') the original plan was to go down to Leith docks.  It proved to be just too expensive.   They only built about 60% of the originally intended system.

... and who knows, trams met yet reach Leith.

But in any case the depot is at Gogar (or Edinburgh Gateway, if you navigate by railway stations) and that's the only place the wist retention tanks can be emptied, so ...

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
