Who'd like to guess where? Millennium stadium? Bath? Exeter?

Nope ivybridge hosted Devon vs Cornwall.

GWR (Great Western Railway) have added stops at late notice for ivybridge due to overcrowding to Cornwall bound HSTs (High Speed Train).

Reported figures suggest several thousand in attendance. Majority being cornish supporters, who were advised not to drive due to limited parking in and around ivybridge rugby ground. Looks like most took the advise and used the train.

And I was reliably informed that it was very warm inside the hospitality marquee.

One of my friends was on a hospitality ticket for all his hard work to the CRFU. Reported free food and bar all day!

The food was free - but beer £3.50 a pint in the marquee.

An emphatic win for Cornwall who dominated from the start

As you say Cornwall fans were there in force!

There were certainly a fair few heading east west to the game on the train I travelled down on.   Not sure what it was like afterwards as I had to leave before the end.   I was the only person to board the 15:47 going back up from Ivybridge.

My parents went on the Trelawny Army supporters coach, complete with Betty Stogs in their coach group. The beer started flowing there at 8am.

Bobm I can understand you being the only person on the 1547. Approximately half time I don't see many leaving that early?

Indeed - mind you, you could hear Trewlawny's Army loud and clear while waiting on the platform.  It was pretty clear who was winning!

It's a great shame that the County Championship has been so downgraded by the RFU these days - Devon v Cornwall was always a great occasion and I've had several memorable days out at Twickenham when Cornwall made it through to the Final.
