I was under the impression that a part of the ECML▸ was in fact closed on Sunday Morning for an engineering possession which led to VTEC being able to run this event ?

Surely if it was possible to run 4 trains side by side, normal service could have been restored earlier?! A similar event would never happen on a busy airport runway, motorway etc, so why on a railway?

No, your scrolling text feature is an original element of the particular (ancient!) forum software that we use.

No, it's an irritating feature that's been there from day one.

I did indeed have back to back BR▸ blue HST power cars driving across the screen, as my signature. They may make a return at some point, although I'll have to dig up the original image. In the meantime the error message from Hex, the Discworld's Unseen University supercomputer, will remain.

At the expense of annoying Graham, here is a somewhat desperate attempt to get back on topic

With reference to 'scrolling texts', see also an old topic on the Coffee Shop forum, started by ... erm, grahame himself ... at http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=7291.0
