How often are train seats washed?

Seats on seven of London's underground train lines are never washed despite being sat on by millions of bums every day.

A Freedom of Information request from the Metro revealed the upholstery on the District, Jubilee, Northern, Circle, Piccadilly, Metropolitan, and Hammersmith and City lines are never shampooed.

The only lines where seats do get a soaping are the Bakerloo, Victoria and Central, but that only happens every six months to a year.

What are the cleaning rotas like for GWR^▸ (Great Western Railway) trains?

I tend to get v early morning trains and the seats always seem pretty clean with quite often  a mild air freshener/cleaning fluid smell in the air.......later in the day they are obviously less pristine but I wouldn't say it's a huge issue on the LTV^▸ (London [and] Thames Valley) line anyway, can't speak for the others.

Every few years I unzip the sofa covers and stick them in a machine.  It amazes me what a difference it makes.  But the only reason I do it is to resist household pressure to buy a new sofa.  I suspect full washing of train seats only happens when they do a periodic deep clean, but that they can and do remove and replace individual seat where someone has soiled them.
