Pushing definition of Thames Valley infrastructure so posting here...

Cancellations to services between Worcester Shrub Hill and Evesham
Due to a fault with the signalling system between Worcester Shrub Hill and Evesham the line towards Oxford is blocked.
Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed or diverted. Disruption is expected until 09:00 27/10.

Certainly at Hanborough 0721 to London, 0801 to Oxford and 0839 to London all cancelled (London trains being diverted via Swindon). And yet 0710 MIM:PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) was on time and remarkably uncrowded.

Signal/points failure (NJ9) at Norton Junction near Worcester Shrub Hill. The route was locked to/from Cheltenham. Unable to route any services to/from Evesham.

The junction has been used far more intensively this week with CrossCountry services diverted through Worcester SH and Kidderminster due to engineering works at Bromsgrove. Perhaps the points didn't like the extra work they were doing!

As I write it seems the S&T (Signalling and Telegraph) bods have got things working again.

Details of the slightly unusual operation of this junction's signalling (the distant semaphore for moves toward Cheltenham via Abbotswood Jcn is controlled from Gloucester Panel, the rest from the adjacent box) can be read here:

Indeed.  Thanks for posting.  Wink
