Apologies if this is in the wrong place, and/or if it's been previously answered here or elsewhere, but does anyone have an up to date link to the GWR▸ HST▸ seating plan (especially 1st class accommodation)?

This is still pretty much correct for standard class. The only difference is that you now have another half a carriage of standard class in the composite vehicle that was added to the old 2+7 sets (with the small buffet), and an additional standard class carriage has been added (and a first class one removed) from the old 2+8 sets (the ones with the full size buffet and kitchen). http://ehelp.thetrainline.com/euf/assets/images/seating-plan-firstgreatwestern.pdfIf it's first class then it's a bit more complicated...

There are 4 different layouts for 1st class if I'm not mistaken. (Mostly due to the different types of buffets in Coach K) A selfish plug for the GWR▸ Guide to Services book which includes an up-to-date HST▸ seating plan that accounts for all of them. Available from most major GWR stations such as London Paddington, Slough and Reading for £5

I am at cross purposes with GWR▸ , when trying to book 2 first class seats in coach L on an HST▸ . Retail telephone booking at GWR talks of seats numbered 1-47 (plus, I think, a wheelchair space) on its real time, reservation system, whereas the seating plan I have shows seats numbered up to 24. This is making it difficult for me to know if the seats I book will be together. It is similar, if I attempt a dummy online booking. Seats offered were 4/5 and 15/16, which, according to my diagram, would not be together. Have I got up too early and am having a bad dream? Help someone!

Tables of 4 in L are 2,3,4,5; 8,9,10,11; 14,15,16,17; 20,21,22,23; 26,27,28,29; 32,33,34,35; 38,39,40,41; 44,45,46,47. The two middle numbers are next the Windows, the two higher numbers at each table are facing forward when First Class is leading. 1 and 6 are a table of two, all others are single. 43 is the "accessable" seat (no table) 00 is the wheelchair space
All of the online planners are still in dual numbering format, whereas GWR▸ have moved to individual numbering. Dual format was where seats at a table opposite each other had the same number. Both options you have given are next to each other at tables of 4 in coach L.

1st class were renumbered last September to be the same configuration as Standard.
Where as before they were numbered in pairs ie 1 FACE/1 BACK, each seat is now individually numbered.

What a wonderful forum. Instant answers. Thank you, Plymothian, and now RichWarwicker, who's read my mind as to which seats are round a table for 4. Hopefully there are still some advance tickets available, now that I am forearmed with all the info.

From my chat feed - does anyone have an answer ... I am travelling on sat 29th july from penzance in ist class seat k12 and wondered what the layout was? 14:16 the train leaves penzance at 11:00am Likley to be one of 4 types according to what I read up-thread?

Coack K is the half coach with buffet, but can't be sure whether they're in the table of 4 or a single seat.

With various different kitchen arrangements it could be anything however if it's one with a full kitchen 407xx it will be one of a pair around a table rather than a set of four. I think the same applies if it's the slightly smaller kitchen on s 408xx.
If the train is in the correct formation it will be facing the direction of travel leaving Penzance.
