I think C2C are very under estimated, they turned around what was under BR▸ the "misery line" into what it is now, was the first TOC▸ to have an all new train fleet and are about the most punctual and reliable London suburban TOC.
That said, I remember c2c being forced to back down less than a month after introducing a very unpopular December 2006 timetable..... http://www.echo-news.co.uk/display.var.1099738.0.old_c2c_timetable_back_on_monday.php

I fully understand the concerns about the bus services currently operated by Truronian but what about the coach side of the business? Are FIRST planning to continue operating the holiday tours?

Well if First Westrn National start running holiday tours like FGW▸ run(?) a rail service I'm sure FWN would soon appear on a Holiday Review programme on TV. Holiday's from HELL

Please does anyone know whether First Bus will be taking over the coach touring side of Truronian or if not who will be operating that side of the business?

I would like to stress that not only is this great news for the local economy but Truronian customers will soon have the assurance that they have the UK▸ 's largest transport company alongside them on their every journey."

My dad who drives buses for a private company who meets Truronian drivers on school runs said they said Firs managers were meeting them at work yesterday morning. On the back of many single decker buses First has been sandblasted on in the same style as on First buses.

Its is quite funny at the moment as most Truronian buses still have Truronian vinyls but have First sandblasted on windows. So they are First Truronian.

From the BBC» : Truronian Holidays to cease trading
A Cornish coach holiday firm is to be wound down with the loss of two jobs, it has been announced.
Truronian Holidays will cease trading on 1 November because of "difficult trading and economic conditions", its owners First Devon and Cornwall said.
Truronian Holidays will honour all pre-booked trips until that date where the required numbers had been met, it said.
All driving staff will move to First but two jobs in the firm's Truro shop would be lost, a spokeswoman said.
Truronian Holidays runs coach trips and holidays around the UK▸ and across Europe.
It was taken over by First in 2008, which said it absorbed the local bus services running under the Truronian name and operated the coach holiday side of the business separately.
Robbie Lamerton, general manager for First Devon and Cornwall, said: "After several years of running both companies we have made a decision to focus on scheduled passenger transport services rather than bespoke holiday packages. Unfortunately a deal to sell the holiday business as a going concern fell through earlier this year so Truronian Holidays will be officially wound down, and will cease trading in the autumn."
He said it was "deeply regrettable" that two jobs in the holiday firm's Truro shop would be lost.
The private hire part of the business - provided by First Devon and Cornwall Coach Hire utilising vehicles with Truronian livery - was to continue to run as normal, First Group said.

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.
"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner." Discuss.
