This is a radio clip from the BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) - the impression of someone squirming on their seat is not him, it has to be said.  Wink

Humphrys takes rail firm rep to task over fares

Rail companies have an obligation to tell us what the cheapest fares are when we buy our tickets. But when The Times checked out 50 journeys, it found it was possible to get a cheaper fare on 33 of them than the advertised fare.

Jacqueline Starr, managing director of customer experience at the Rail Delivery Group, which represents the rail industry, was taken to task by John Humphrys over the fares.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

She was dreadful.....I note she mentioned "driving a reform of fares" though so I look forward to seeing how that pans out, and the savings currently obtained via split ticketing consolidated into through ticketing to benefit everyone, not just those "in the know"
