I've decided to take the train from Taunton to Warminster tomorrow. Not driving means I can have a beer or two in one of the village pubs along the Imberbus route.

Without Finn as it's forecast warm and he'll struggle with a long day out. He's an OAG now! He'll keep Mumsy company instead.

May see you somewhere there ...  our local train operator is a none-operator again this morning and the way for me to Imber is going to be by bus all the way and not just half the way.

Good news there is a full service operating on the Cardiff-Portsmouth’s today.
However there are three diagrams running short formed according to JC/RTT» (Real Time Trains - website) so some trains may be a bit cozy onboard.

There are a small handful of cancellations on the Bristol-Salisbury stoppers in the morning/early afternoon.

I'm now drivng to Warminster. And Finn will be coming along. I had a late night cleaning up after a drain blockage caused a bathroom flood. Plumber call out to rod and jet the outside drains.

With back flow the stuff coming up from the shower drain wasn't pretty!

The number of cancellations has increased to include the afternoon and evening sadly, so the Cardiff-Portsmouth’s will be taking the strain this evening for the journeys home.

A superb day - personally not so much about all these buses but about the people.   Anyway - here are a few pictures that don't have an excess of people in them

It was more about the buses than the people for me! Although I did have a nice chat with Chris Nix from the London Transport Museum. He's one of the presenters of the 'Hidden London Hangouts' YouTube channel, as well as a contributor/historian/producer for UKTV's 'Secrets of the London Underground'. His day job is Director of Content at the London Transport Museum.

I have dozens of bus pictures and videos from the day. I'll be putting together a YouTube video over the coming days and will post it here. In the meantime here's a nice pair of Bristols to gawp at. Wink

The one on the left would lose marks for not lining up the destination blind properly.

Question that's bugging me. One of the Imberbus destinations is Tilshead. How is that pronounced? is it "Tils head" or "Til Shed"  Huh

Heard both today.

To complete the story here of yesterday ...........

..........not quite ! GWR (Great Western Railway) seemed to be doing their best (again !) to "support" this fun day out. Almost total cancellation of the "local" Bristol - Salisbury trains on Saturday. According to RTT» (Real Time Trains - website), 12 cancellations from 1340 to c.o.p.
