Apparently another WCR steam charter "incident" at Bath Spa last night. Stopped short then drew forward when people were disembarking. Apparently RAIB▸ are investigating. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/uk.railway/z3BC8i8Y0b0 CJB

Without trying to be fussy, was Wednesday 13th. Just after having their licence restored (again) another hiccup. The train was 1Z63 1636 Bristol temple Meads to West Brompton being worked by 2x47s and mixture of Mark 1 and Mark 2 carriages with no CDL▸ .

It worries me that their licence was restored too hastily.

The head of the ORR» was interviewed and feels they hace everything under control, an inspector almost imbeded and 6 others, which includes the ORR MD regularly visiting. They are still on an improvement notice, but have achiever everything required of them in the prohibition notice, thus the ORR needed to mark that notice 'achieved' and lift it

Was delayed between Bristol and Bath due signalling problems.

I thought the excursion allowed for pax to disembark at Bath on the outward leg, so I could understand pax embarking on the return leg - unless of course they are referring to on-train staff disembarking.

Another forum has the Network Rail log related to this incident. I'll not quote it here but it does appear to show continued disregard for proper safe operation by both WCRC and its staff. Link for those registered at WNXX▸ Forums.

At our TransWilts forum in Salisbury yesterday, the matter of heritage train operation, safety and training issues thereon, and West Coast Railways in particular was discussed, with a member of the audience having been / being a steward with them and telling us a little of that. Rather interesting that as we were on our way home from that forum, there's a further incident reported.

There was a rather amusing link in one of the posts in the original discussion, on another forum, referred to in CJB666's original post on this topic. See http://replygif.net/i/586.gif

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.
