What is planned to happen to 3 car units 150925 and 150926 in the GWR (Great Western Railway) DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) cascade?

Those 2 x 3 cars will become 3 x 2 cars, as the two separate 150/2 vehicles temporarily used to extend the basic units will be modified and reformed back into another 2 car, one vehicle will have a universal toilet fitted.

The table in the GW» (Great Western - used as an abbreviation for the area / lines under the Great Western franchise, as opposed to FGW which includes "First", the company operating them too. For tickets - about) franchise agreement explains this in 'note d' on page 146:

Quote
Two of the Class 150/1 units have been reformed with one vehicle each from the Class 150/2 1 car units to operate semi-permanently as two 3 cars units; these will be reverted back to 2 car units after the 150/2 1 car units have gone through PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility) modification.

I have read somewhere that GWR (Great Western Railway) are going to have to send a number of their DMUs (Diesel Multiple Unit) elsewhere during this year (2017). I assume these will be 150/1s and/or 153s.

Does anyone have any further details - which units, where going to?

If I'm recalling correctly (and if the forum posts I picked up the information from were accurate) the class 150/1 fleet was to be sent to Northern (after PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility) modifications, I assume) and all the 153s were to go off lease (into store). More recently there have been suggestions that GWR may now keep some of the 153s, but some are still going off-lease. That might not all be 2017 though.

Don't DOO (Driver-Only Operation (that is, trains which operate without carrying a guard)) it, keep the guard (but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea if the driver unlocked the doors on arrival at calling points).

Does anyone know how many Turbos will have to remain at Reading to cover the Thames Valley Branches/Redhill-Gatwick/Oxford/Basingstoke services?

What I wish to be reassured on is that enough Turbos will still come to Bristol to not only replace the departing 143/153/150-1 units but allow for enhanced services. O.K, short formed HSTs (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) will come into the equation as well. Hopefully no Turbos will have to remain at Reading to provide emergency cover for duff electrics.

The way things are going at the moment with the 387s on LTV (London [and] Thames Valley), I'd say they'll be keeping a fair few Turbos at Reading for the foreseeable future.

All the 150/1s are going to Northern, some gone already, who will do the PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility) Mods.   150925 and 150926, I believe, will stay until the end of the year.

What has happened to 150925/926? Have they been disbanded as proposed and have the 150/1 cars departed? I assume the 'new' 150/2 created from the centre cars are in course of being modified/refurbished?

I saw or heard comment that they're remaining with us until the end of the year (this year 2018). Don't know accuracy of that report.

Perhaps there is a shortage of drivers available to deliver them to the other franchise. 😉

Also hear "rumors" that a 158 has been delivery to Exeter depot, but of course it could have just been visiting on a Cardiff to Paignton service!

158s are not all that rare at Exeter even though the only booked working involves an overnight stay on a Saturday.

Yes I know, that's why I said it could have just been visiting. I was meaning one based permanently at Exeter.
