Don't DOO (Driver-Only Operation (that is, trains which operate without carrying a guard)) it, keep the guard (but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea if the driver unlocked the doors on arrival at calling points).

I suspect the article may have been written by someone who isn't a real trainspotter. Either that, or journalistic standards at Viz are beginning to slide towards those of the Bristol Post, Sun, etc.

I hope it isn't the start of the slippery slope. I have long valued Viz's Readers' Tips. "Buy onions instead of apples - they are cheaper and last much longer" gave me a fit of giggles at the back of Bristol Magistrates' Court once.

Maybe this should be moved to "irrelevant stock photos"...but given the style of the journalism I think we can probably make an allowance for Viz in this case..
