Transport Extra - We don^t plan to franchise buses, says Cornwall
Cornwall Council has no immediate plans to franchise the area^s bus network, despite the Government pledging franchising powers for the council as part of the recently-signed Cornwall devolution deal.
Bert Biscoe, Cornwall^s portfolio holder for transport, told LTT the franchising powers would be held in reserve, in case partnership working with bus operators failed to deliver the council^s aims.
