All, next week I have to work at least 3 days in Aylesbury. I will be travelling everyday - leaving THA about 6am coming back about 530 pm

I know that if I buy a weekly travel card it becomes worth while if travelling 3 days or more but can I get a weekly through ticket?

If I do this can I legitimately  use the Thatcham <> London part on Thursday and Friday if needed?

Thanks in advance

Doesn't look as if you can get a season for that journey unfortunately.

Indeed, and very odd - I thought you could buy a season for any point-to-point journey. Guess you can't if you need a cross-London marker.....

Yes, it is a little odd.  You can't even get one from Reading to Aylesbury, but you can get one from Didcot or Oxford as long as you avoid London.  Whether avoiding London for such a journey (and other similar ones on the Chiltern Line) might become much more viable after Evergreen 3/East West Rail opens and season tickets will be available is a different matter.

It is possible to do it, but ticket office needs to do it as a manual fare.

Thatcham to Zones 1-6 = ^128.40
Aylesbury to Zones 1-6 = ^108.00
London Zones 1-6 = ^58.60

Calculation is Thatcham travelcard + Aylesbury travelcard - 1 x London travelcard = ^177.80

London Zones 1-6 = ^58.60

Surely that duplicates (or even triplicates!) travel in zones 1-6?

One travelcard would cover those zones, so maye the following is all that is neeed?

Thatcham Travelcard zones 1-6
Aylesbury to London (or maybe even Aylesbury to Harrow-on-the-Hill, which is within those zones)?

Don't see how ... Thatcham to 1-6 plus Aylesbury to 1-6 minus 1-6 travel card.

I had a look at the prices quoted last night - for 3 days, Ollie's calculation works out cheaper that buying 3 peak day returns.   But it's marginally cheaper to buy Thatcham to 1 - 6 for the week and Harrow-on-the-Hill to Aylesbury for 3 days if you're travelling to Aylesbury for 3 days and to London for additional days within the same 7 day period.

Indeed, I missed Ollie's minus sign!

But my fare construction suggestion stands - why involve two travelcards? Either a London Terminals or even HotH to Aylesbury plus Thatcham Travelcard?

But Graham is right if there's 3 days only in Aylesbury required plus two in London

OK lots of useful info here...

So if I understand this right I could buy my normal travel card from Thatcham to Z6 which is ^128 ish and then buy the extra from Harrow on the hill to Aylesbury which I can use from Marylebone  to Aylesbury as long as the service stops at HOH?

Thanks

Dave
