I'd love to know how Ian Beale managed to get this bargain:  As seen on EastEnders 11th August 2015. Anytime Day Single from London Paddington to Plymouth for just ^53.50. Not only that but valid for travel on 'ANY' date. And with a cross London transfer.   |

He came home one day and said, "There's a new soap opera starting tonight called EastEnders. We must watch it - we can tell our grandchildren we saw the first episode." We sat through about 15 minutes of it and then went to the pub. That was the last episode I saw... |

Quite possible. I think I stopped watching when Dirty Den was shot dead for the second time.
Second time he was bludgeoned by an iron doorstop, not shot. Then buried in concrete in The Vic cellar. |

Back to the suspect ticket - it has 'Rail Settlement Plan' repeated on the central background. Don't they all have 'National Rail' these days? When did that change?

The NLC▸ (four digits), machine number (four digits) and window number (two digits) string has too many digits. Also no payment method indicator after the price. No time next to the printed date. Totally agree with you there.. and it is not only chopping boards, I have been offered food on what looked like roof slates - complete with sauce which flowed everywhere. Not pleasant.

Drinks too. I was served a "pint" of beer in an old jam jar at a bar in Manchester. The old (dirty) lid was even placed on the jar. They did not seem best pleased when I pointed out there was no CE mark or crown stamp on the glass. Rather unsurprisingly, the "pint" only filled up 2/3 of a pint glass when it was transferred. The manager seemed rather embarrased at having to fill it up to the top. Sadly I forgot to note down the establishment's name before leaving, else it would have been reported to the city council. |
