Passengers from Salisbury and Bedwyn should be advised to buy split tickets.

Upwey Wishing ... well ... you are probably right, but not the answer I had. Passengers from Salisbury and Bedwyn should be advised to buy split tickets.
Agreed, save that we're not marketing it from those stations.

Weymouth. Indeed ... And you'll note that the lowest fares are from the furthest distance. I just loves the fare system!

'System' implies some thought, organisation and logic. None of those apply to rail fare pricing in the UK▸ .

Was also thanks to Twitter who thought it was important to show me the conversation between Grahame and FGW▸ Twitter team earlier today.

Upwey was a clue!
Was also thanks to Twitter who thought it was important to show me the conversation between Grahame and FGW▸ Twitter team earlier today. Ah yes ... I was sanity checking a higher fare for Trowbridge - Weymouth than for Swindon - Trowbridge - Weymouth.

Since it is not an advance fare, if I turn up at Trowbridge I could ask for a Swindon to Weymouth ticket and use it from Trowbridge. In that case surely the TOC▸ should sell me the cheapest ticket which would be the Swindon one?

Absolutely fine doing that. Same applies from Westbury.
