Hi All

I ordered some tickets from a TOC (Train Operating Company) which I'll keep anonymous for now. They arrived in the post today but the letter contained the wrong tickets (correct postal address).

I contacted the customer services for the TOC in question and have been told to send them back. They have been in contact with the customer who's tickets I received in error, turns out they have mine.

I may seem a bit cheap asking this but should it be me paying for the tickets to be returned? I have just been given an address to them to with very little information.

Has anyone else had this happen before?

They should be cancelling both sets of tickets and re-issuing.

You should not have to pay a single penny for their incompetence.

Any sensible retailer who does a lot of mail order business would have a Freepost address for returns. It might not be publicised on the website, but it would be available for this sort of transaction.

My thoughts too. Surely they should have the ability to void them and just send me new ones?  Huh

The address on the back is for The Fleming Centre, Crawley, Sussex. I'm guessing this is the single source of tickets by post? I've had tickets from many TOCs (Train Operating Company) sent from this address.

I'm hoping to follow this up further tomorrow. Giving them the weekend.

I believe the address belongs to a company called "Fastrailticketing Limited" who appear to act as the ticket dispatch agent for a number of TOCs.  One of the directors is registered as Mark Furlong, a former director of companies such as Trainline.com Ltd, West Coast Trains Ltd, Qjump Ltd and NRES (National Rail Enquiry Service) Ltd.  There is little more detail available about this company.

All sorted now. Someone got a telling off for the 'send them back' advice.  Grin
