What trains do they use there at the moment? Are they worth pinching?
London Overground have 150/1's which we will be trying to get hold of but Chiltern have 165's which could be used on Thames Valley service but work would need to be carried out on them.

Think the Chiltern units are to increase capacity (now there's a novel idea!), so don't think those will  free anything up. The GOBLIN line is an obvious infill electrification for which momentum appears to be growing, so maybe the Class 172s will themselves become available before they are barely built. (I'm surprised the GOBLIN line hasn't been electirifed as part of the flood of pre-Olympics funding in the area.)

Well it wouldn't surprise me, but as it takes 3 years to string a few wires up, I don't think it's going to solve our immediate problems.
