From the FGW (First Great Western) site, current changes

20080115   18:06   London Paddington   20:03   Frome   short working, weather issues, knock-on effect

Full report: "This train has been diverted.It will additionally call at: Swindon, Chippenham, Melksham and Trowbridge.It will no longer call at: Theale, Thatcham, Newbury, Kintbury, Hungerford, Bedwyn and Pewsey.This is due to flooding earlier. "

I don't know if that's a 125 or an Adalente, but congratulations to FGW on being able to stop trains as appropriate where such requestes have been denied in the past (for Melksham, where we are used to seeing non-stop expresses and canned regional trains).  It's now realistic to let diverted expresses take over for the regional trains at times of extreme such as today.

HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)). That explains why the 19.35 WEstbury-Chelt is cancelled!

No they won't as it won't turn up.

Its going via the B&H (Berks and Hants - railway line from Reading to Taunton via Westbury) again

Yeah ... they appear to have

1. Rerouted the Frome service via Melksham
2. Cancelled both of the Swindon to Westbury services to avoid duplication
3. Re-rerouted the Frome service via Pewsey
4. FAILED to re-instate the Swindon to Westbury and return services!

At times of extreme weather / unavailability of the B&H (Berks and Hants - railway line from Reading to Taunton via Westbury) line, I fully accept that the long distance services should run via the TransWilts, and with SDO (Selective Door Opening) they can now make the calls of the trains that they have displaced.   However, it shows an arrogant disregard to TransWilts passengers to cancel their services, and then to fail to re-instate them when they don't need the line for the longer distance trains after all! Once again, FGW have turned a sensible solution that was actually all in place into a $%^&*()  Wink
